What about camera hardware costs?

CareCam's software subscription is separate from camera hardware. In most cases, your center already has compatible IP cameras — so hardware cost is $0. If you need cameras, here's a realistic first-year budget by center size.

Center sizeSoftware / yearNew cameras (if needed)First-year estimate
Home daycare (1–2 cameras)$29/mo$80–$250$428–$1,048
Small center (4–6 cameras)$29–$49/mo$320–$1,200$668–$1,788
Mid-size center (8–16 cameras)$49–$79/mo$640–$3,200$1,228–$4,148
Large center (16–24 cameras)$79–$99/mo$1,280–$4,800$2,228–$5,988

Hardware estimates assume $80–$200/camera for compatible IP cameras. Installation labor (when needed) is separate. Many centers have existing compatible cameras and pay only the software subscription.

Pricing questions

What's included in every CareCam plan?
Every plan includes unlimited parent accounts, classroom-level access controls, configurable viewing hours, and access via iOS app, Android app, and browser. No per-parent fees.
Does CareCam require new cameras?
Not in most cases. CareCam works with most IP cameras that support RTSP, including Hikvision, Dahua, Reolink, Amcrest, UniFi, and Hanwha. If your cameras already stream via RTSP, you can connect them to CareCam without purchasing new hardware.
What does camera hardware cost separately?
IP cameras suitable for classroom use typically cost $80–$200 each. Installation labor, if needed, varies by contractor. CareCam's software subscription does not include hardware or installation — those are separate costs you control.
Is there a long-term contract?
No. CareCam plans are month-to-month. You can cancel, downgrade, or upgrade at any time.
Can I start on one plan and upgrade later?
Yes. Many centers start on the Starter plan with 1–2 cameras and upgrade as they add classrooms or need more capacity.
What if I need more than 24 cameras?
Contact us for a custom quote. Larger and multi-site centers are handled on a case-by-case basis.
Do parents pay anything?
No. The CareCam app is completely free for parents. Only the daycare center pays for the platform subscription.
How does CareCam compare in price to WatchMeGrow?
WatchMeGrow does not publish pricing. Based on public reporting, their hardware alone runs $3,500–$4,500 for a 3-camera setup, plus professional installation and ongoing fees. CareCam publishes all pricing above — software starts at $29/month and works with cameras you already own.
