How parent camera access works

    Your daycare sets it up

    The center director connects CareCam to their classroom cameras and configures which classrooms each parent can access.

    You get a secure login

    You receive an email invitation to create a password-protected account. Your login is tied to your child's classroom.

    Watch during approved hours

    Log in from any browser or the CareCam app during the hours your daycare has approved. No app download required for web access.

    See only what's yours

    You can see the classrooms your child attends. Other classrooms are not accessible, and no other parent can see your child's room unless their child is also enrolled there.

Questions from parents

Can I watch my child at daycare on my phone?
Yes, if your daycare uses CareCam. You log in from any phone browser or the CareCam app and get a live stream of your child's classroom during center hours. No separate app is required — the web interface works on all modern phones.
Is the stream live or recorded?
Live only. CareCam does not archive footage or give parents access to recorded video. What you see is what's happening right now in the classroom.
What hours can I watch?
Your daycare sets the viewing schedule. Most centers make cameras available during operating hours — typically 7am–6pm on weekdays. Outside those hours, the stream is offline even if you're logged in.
Can I see my child specifically, or the whole room?
You see the full classroom camera view, the same as the fixed camera sees the room. CareCam doesn't offer individual child tracking or zooming.
Is the camera feed secure? Who else can see it?
Your login only gives access to your child's classroom. No one can access a classroom's feed without being enrolled and authenticated. Streams are encrypted in transit and are not publicly accessible.
Can I hear what's happening in the classroom?
No. CareCam streams video only — no audio. This is standard for childcare streaming systems and avoids complications with audio recording consent laws.
Can I record or screenshot the stream?
CareCam does not offer a recording feature. Most daycare enrollment agreements prohibit parents from recording or sharing footage. Respect that policy — it protects everyone's children, including yours.
My daycare doesn't have CareCam. Can I ask them to get it?
Absolutely. Share this page or the carecam.io homepage with your director. Plans start at $29/month and often work with cameras the center already has installed. Many centers get set up in less than a day.
