CareCam

Boarding & kennel cameras

Let owners check on their dog during boarding — privately

Overnight stays are when owner anxiety peaks. CareCam gives each owner a live view of their own dog's run on their phone — during hours you set, for the length of the stay, with access ending automatically at checkout.

Boarding cameras only work if they're per-customer

A public webcam can show a play yard, but it can't show your dog's suite — pointing an open internet stream at individual runs isn't something most facilities (or their customers) want. That's why suite-level viewing has to be gated: each owner is assigned their own dog's camera for the stay, sees nothing else, and loses access at checkout.

For your front desk, that means fewer check-in calls. For your revenue, it means camera-included suites become a sellable premium tier instead of a free website feature. And for the first-time-boarding owner deciding between you and the kennel down the road, "you can watch him on your phone" often decides it.

Three ways kennels set this up

SetupWhat owners seeBest forHardware

All three run on the same CareCam plan — pricing is by total camera count ($49–$199/month, month-to-month), plus the $349 pre-configured appliance. Owner accounts are unlimited.

Run daycare too?

The same system covers your daycare playgroups — private customer viewing of the play areas during daycare hours, on the same appliance and plan.

Boarding & kennel camera questions

Can each owner see only their own dog's run?
Yes — that's the core of how CareCam works. Access is per-customer, per-camera: an owner is assigned their dog's suite camera for the length of the stay and sees nothing else. When the dog checks out, access ends automatically.
Can owners watch overnight?
You choose the viewing windows, and they can be different for boarding than for daycare. Some facilities allow around-the-clock viewing of suite cameras during a stay; others open mornings and evenings. It's a per-area setting you control.
Do we need a camera in every run?
No. Most facilities start with cameras in a handful of premium suites and their play areas, then add runs as the camera-included tier sells. CareCam pricing is by camera count, so starting small is cheap.
Will this reduce 'how is my dog doing?' phone calls?
That's one of the main reasons boarding facilities add owner viewing: when owners can see their dog eating, playing, and settled, they call the front desk less. We don't have formal published numbers on it, so we'll only promise the mechanism — owners who can look don't need to call to ask.
Can we charge for camera access?
Yes, and boarding is where it works best — camera-included suites are a natural premium tier. CareCam bills your facility flat by camera count with unlimited owner accounts, so the upsell margin is yours.
Is the video recorded anywhere?
CareCam is live-only — we don't record or store video. If you record to your own NVR for operational reasons, that footage stays on your equipment, under your control.
What cameras and equipment do we need?
Standard RTSP/ONVIF IP cameras (Hikvision, Dahua, Reolink, Amcrest, Hanwha, and similar — from about $80 each), a PoE switch if you don't have one (~$40), and the CareCam appliance ($349 one-time), a small pre-configured box we ship you. If you already have cameras on an NVR, we can usually stream from your existing setup.
How long until we're live?
The appliance ships pre-configured and typically arrives within about a week of signup. Plug it into your network, we connect the cameras remotely, and most facilities are live the same day it arrives.
