    Connect your cameras

    CareCam works with most IP cameras via RTSP. Enter your camera credentials in the dashboard, no new cameras needed in most cases.

    Create classrooms

    Set up each classroom in CareCam and assign the camera stream to it.

    Set viewing hours

    Define the hours parents can access the live feed, for example, 7am–6pm weekdays.

    Approve access requests

    Parents create their own account and request access to their child's classroom; you approve or deny each request from the dashboard. You can also add a parent directly yourself as an exception.

    Sign up at CareCam, then search for and select your child's daycare center.

    Request classroom access

    Request access to your child's classroom. Your center's director reviews and approves it.

    Download the app or open the browser

    Get CareCam on iOS or Android, or log in at app.carecam.io from any browser.

    Watch during approved hours

    Tap the classroom to start the live stream. Available during the hours your center has set.

Your daycare doesn't have CareCam yet? Share carecam.io with your director. Most centers are live within about a week.

Frequently asked questions

Can parents watch a daycare camera from their phone?
Yes. CareCam turns your daycare's existing cameras into a live view parents open from an iPhone, Android phone, or any web browser. Each parent sees only their own child's classroom, and only during the hours the center allows. There's no separate daycare camera to buy.
Is there a CareCam app for iPhone?
Yes. Download CareCam from the App Store for iPhone and iPad. You can also watch directly in Safari without downloading anything.
Is there a CareCam app for Android?
Yes. CareCam is on Google Play. It works on all modern Android phones and tablets. The web interface at carecam.io also works in Chrome.
Do parents need to download an app?
No. The app is optional. Parents can use any modern browser, Chrome, Safari, Firefox, to log in and watch the live feed. The native app gives a slightly better experience but is not required.
What app does my daycare use to share cameras with parents?
If your daycare shares live camera access, they may use CareCam. Ask your director. If they don't offer parent camera access yet, share carecam.io with them, most centers are live about a week after signing up, the day their appliance arrives.
Does the app let parents video chat with the daycare?
CareCam gives parents a live video view of their child's classroom. It's one-way live viewing, not a two-way video call. That's deliberate: it protects every family's privacy and keeps teachers focused on the children instead of fielding calls. For messages or questions, you'll use whatever communication app your daycare already uses; CareCam handles the live camera view of the room.
Does the app work with cameras we already have?
Most IP cameras work with CareCam via RTSP. Tested brands include Hikvision, Anpviz, UniFi, and Hanwha. Enter the camera's RTSP URL in the CareCam dashboard to connect it.
How much does the parent app cost?
Nothing. The CareCam app is free for parents. Your daycare pays for the platform subscription; Center plans start at $99/month.
Can the app record or screenshot the stream?
CareCam does not offer a recording feature for parents. The stream is live-only. Screen recording outside the app may be technically possible but violates CareCam's terms of service and most daycare enrollment policies.
What if the stream isn't loading in the app?
Check that you're within the viewing hours your daycare has set. If it's within those hours, try refreshing or logging out and back in. If the issue persists, contact your daycare. They control the camera system.
